vaccines and insulin.

TNT Express improves Sub-Saharan Africa network with new associate 

TNT Express has appointed Getma as new associate in eight Sub-Saharan African countries as part of a plan to improve its network capabilities, service and market share in the region. Getma, a subsidiary of the French transport and logistics group NCT Necotrans, will handle the collection and delivery of imports and exports for TNT Express in Mali, Togo, Benin, Ivory Coast, Chad, Niger, Equatorial Guinea and Angola. The partnership will be effective in all eight countries by the end of Q1 2012.

TNT Airways know-how for racing cars

On 8th November 211 TNT Airways has one more time successfully meet the requirements of its customer in carrying racing cars to Macao with one of its B747-400.
The aircraft has been safely loaded in less than 2 hours by the fully trained staff of TNT Airport Services, the TNT Airways ground handling department.

3Q11 results: Europe resilient, focus on recovering profitability Asia-Pacific and Americas

The 3Q11 revenue development reflects the combination of muted growth in EMEA, continuing growth in Asia Pacific and lower revenues in Americas (Brazil). Year on year, operating income was down mostly because of larger losses in Americas (Brazil) and in Asia-Pacific. Non-allocated was positive as a result of lower overhead and project-related costs, charge out to business units and beneficial phasing of certain costs.

TNT Express today received the 2011 Smart Services Award from Cisco, a leader in the development of Internet Protocol (IP)-based networking technologies, during a ceremony in Singapore. TNT Express was awarded the prestigious recognition for providing Cisco with real time visibility of all their transportation flows across the Asia Pacific through the implementation of a regional "control tower" based in Beijing, China. A control tower is a tailored bundle of information services used to manage and monitor a customer’s supply chain.

TNT Express airlifts 45 tons of food aid for Somalia

TNT Express today uplifted 45 tons of emergency food aid to Nairobi, Kenya, to help the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) feed thousands of children in neighboring Somalia. A Boeing 767 aircraft containing more than 3,000 boxes of supplementary plumpy, a nutrition product for malnourished children, took off today at 10.30am CET from TNT’s hub in Liege, Belgium. The plane is expected to land in Nairobi today at around 7pm CET. The aid arriving in Kenya will be moved later to the affected areas in Somalia for distribution.

Second quarter 2011: Newly listed TNT Express reports stronger EMEA profitability

  • Reported revenues €1,800m (+0.9%); adjusted revenues (at constant rates of FX) €1,835m (+2.9%)
  • Reported operating income €46m (-23.3%); adjusted operating income (at constant rates of FX and excluding business and demerger-related one-offs) €79m (-8.1%)
  • Due to strong EMEA performance, aggregate adjusted operating income excluding Americas was +12.0%
  • Brazil turnaround on track to meet 2H12 deadline, though short term challenging
  • Net cash from operating activities €49m and net cash used in investing activities €39m
  • Net debt €107m
  • Interim 2011 dividend of €0.04/share declared – represents 43% of 1H11 normalised net income and shareholders can choose to receive the dividend in stock or cash
  • Implementation of ~ €50m indirect cost savings programme started

TNT Express has launched a dedicated B767 freighter service between India and Europe, the country’s largest trade partner. The service will run five times a week between New Delhi and TNT’s European air hub in Belgium, with a stopover in Dubai on the way back to India. The new service will enable TNT Express customers to enjoy faster transit times, as well as improved control and visibility over shipments moving between India and Europe.

TNT Express N.V. announces that the demerger from TNT N.V. became effective immediately after 0.00 CET this morning. In addition, the deed by which the listed company TNT Express N.V. is merged with TNT Express Holdco B.V. and PostNL is allotted 29.9% of the ordinary shares of TNT Express N.V. has been executed. The merger will be effective immediately after 0.00 CET tonight.

TNT increases express capacity between Asia and Europe
 Amsterdam, Shanghai – TNT is increasing its air freight capacity between China and Europe to meet growing demand. Starting this 5 July, the company is scheduling an additional Boeing 747-400 ERF aircraft between China and its European air hub in Liege, Belgium (as announced on 8 April 2010). TNT will increase its service frequency to six flights per week from Shanghai and five flights per week from Hong Kong. TNT is responding to the stronger demand in China for its air services, especially from the high-tech and fashion industries.

TNT launches Moscow-Liege service
Amsterdam - TNT Express today launches a five day per week air cargo service linking Moscow and its European Air Hub in Liege, via Warsaw.  The new route, operated by a B737-300 provinding 16 tonnes of capacity, will secure and speed up the expedition of time-critical shipments to and from Russia.  Examples inclide automotive parts, clinical supplies and biological samples, such as blood and human tissues.
